Woman in critical condition after being beaten on Home Avenue

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – Fort Wayne police say a woman is in critical condition after she was assaulted on Home Avenue.

FWPD officials say that around 12:15 Friday morning, officers responded to the St. Joe Hospital Emergency Room reference a female/adult victim that arrived via private conveyance.
The victim’s injuries indicated they were the result of an apparent physical assault. The victim was transferred to another local hospital to be treated for life-threatening injuries.
Information obtained at the hospital indicated the victim’s injuries stemmed from an altercation that occurred in the 1000 block of Home Avenue. Police officials say it is too early in the investigation to determine the nature of the injuries or the exact causes.

Detectives are interviewing several witnesses and hope to have additional information once those interviews are concluded. There was no suspect information to provide.
