Short term closures head to I-469 for bridge improvements

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – Contractors for the Indiana Department of Transportation will implement short term road and ramp closures at three locations along I-469 in Allen County bridge improvements and preventative maintenance.

S.R. 1 over I-469

  • Alternating lane closures will be in place from Sunday, October 18 through Friday, October 23

EB I-469 over Norfolk Southern Railroad near Mile Marker 6

  • Alternating lane closures will be in place from Sunday, October 18 through Friday, October 23

I-469 WB Ramp over Harber Ditch

  • Ramp closed from Monday, October 19 through Friday, October 23

WB I-469 over Chicago, Ft. Wayne and Eastern Railroad near Mile Marker 15

  • Alternating lane closures will be in place from Monday, October 19 through Friday, October 23

Indianapolis Rd. over I-469

  • Indianapolis Rd. will be closed in both directions over I-469 from Sunday, October 25 through Tuesday, October 27
  • Detour will follow Yoder Rd., Coverdale Rd. and Lafayette Center Rd.

Winchester Rd. over I-469

  • Winchester Rd. will be closed from Sunday, October 25 through Tuesday, October 27
  • Detour will follow Yoder Rd., Thiele Rd., and Ferguson Rd.

Thiele Rd. over I-469

  • Thiele Rd. will be closed from Tuesday, October 27 through Monday, November 2
  • Detour will follow Hamilton Rd., Bluffton Rd. and Pleasant Center Rd.
  • Thiele Rd. over I-469 will not close until Winchester Rd. over I-469 has reopened

Motorists should slow down when approaching work zones and be prepared for slowed or stopped traffic. Construction and project schedules are weather dependent.
