MUNCIE, Ind. (ADAMS) – Police in Muncie are no longer raffling off two rifles to raise money for their K9 unit.
The department quietly canceled the raffle this week after some people were offended that the raffle featured an AR-15, a rifle similar to the one used in Indianapolis’ FedEx shooting.
Some of those people said it was ‘not a wise thing to do.’
Police departments in the state often raffle off rifles as a way to raise money for things that their departments can’t pay for themselves.
