Pinocchio Had It Backward: When You Lie, Your Nose Shrinks

So, I guess “Pinocchio” wasn’t a documentary, because it got its facts TOTALLY wrong.

According to a new study out of Spain, when someone lies, the blood drains out of their nose, which makes it about two degrees colder . . . so it contracts.  That’s right, “Pinocchio” had it backward. . . your nose slightly SHRINKS when you lie.

So where does that blood go?  Your forehead gets about three degrees hotter, which means it gets bigger when you lie.
