Mother arrested for death of 5-month-old

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – Police say a local mother admitted to a night of drinking before taken her baby boy to the hospital with several injuries.

Officers were called to Parkview Randallia after a 5-month-old baby was brought in to the ER unresponsive at 8:43 a.m. Sunday, December 1, 2019.

The baby had severe bruising and head trauma. He was pronounced deceased at 9:06 am the same day.  The doctor advised the baby had what appeared to be traumatic head injuries pointing to depressions in the baby’s skull.

The mother, Jasmine Johnson who brought the child into the ER, was interviewed by detectives and subsequently arrested for Neglect of a Dependent, a level 1 Felony. The mother admitted to drinking all night with another person and waking up, alone, with the child on the floor.
The Allen County Coroner’s Office later identified the boy as Da’Coldest Antromik King Johnson.

The Cause of Death was ruled Blunt Force Injuries of the Head and the Manner of Death is Homicide.  Johnson is the 24th homicide in Allen County for 2019.

This incident remains under investigation by the Fort Wayne Police Department, the Allen County Prosecutor Attorney’s Office, and the Allen County Coroner’s Office.
