CELINA, Ohio (ADAMS) – Officials in Mercer County say they have arrested a sex offender for the second time this month. Christopher J. Berogan, 29 years of age, was taken into custody in Celina this evening without incident.
Mr. Berogan had been arrested on April 1, after it was discovered that he was living at a residence at 1400 W. Market St. #41 in Celina, which was not his registered address. He was released by the Celina Municipal Court on April 8 with the conditions that he was to follow all requirements of his sex offender registration duties and also to live at the address of 3335 Oregon Road with his parents.
Early on April 16, the Sheriff’s Office received information that he was not in compliance with his registration requirements and was again living at the address on West Market Street. After an investigation, it was found that he was not living at his registered address and was, in fact, on West Market Street. A charge of Failure to Register a Change of Address, a felony of the third degree, was filed in Celina Municipal Court.
Mr. Berogan is being held in the Mercer County Jail on a bond of $50,000 pending a hearing in the Celina Municipal Court on the new charges. The Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office has been notified of the bond violation and is expected to file a bond revocation in the Mercer County Common Pleas Court.
