Indiana teachers threaten strike if schools don’t open ‘safely’

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (ADAMS) – Add a teachers’ strike to the list of back to school worries in Indiana.

One of the state’s largest teachers’ unions, the American Federation of Teachers in Indiana, yesterday said its members will strike if schools across the state do not reopen ‘safely.’

No one is saying what ‘safely’ means.

The union is already on the record against in-person classes and hybrid options this fall. AFT Indiana represents over 4,500 teachers in 27 different school districts across the state.
