Indiana grandma sentenced to 14 days in jail in Capitol riot

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (ADAMS) – The Bloomfield grandmother who went inside the U.S. Capitol on January 6th is heading to jail for two weeks.

A federal judge yesterday sentenced Dona Sue Bissey to 14 days behind bars, 60 hours of community service, and a 500 dollar fine. Bissey pleaded guilty to misdemeanor charges for being inside the Capitol, prosecutors originally suggested probation.

There’s no evidence that Bissey did anything but enter the U.S. Capitol on January 6th. Prosecutors say she’s a QAnon believer, and those beliefs make her dangerous.

Her lawyer said she should be sentenced for her actions, not what she believes.
