FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – Aging & In-Home Services of Northeast Indiana, Inc. (AIHS) announced that the featured speaker at its 45th Annual Meeting and Awards Ceremony will be actress, Alzheimer’s-advocate, New York Times bestselling author and family caregiver
The event is scheduled for Friday, Oct. 23, at Parkview Mirro Center.
Williams-Paisley first lit up the screen as the radiant young bride in the comedy feature film series Father of the Bride and Father of the Bride Part II. Other film and then television roles followed, including the co-starring role of Dana on the ABC TV comedy series According to Jim and Peggy Kenter on the hit drama Nashville. Most recently, Williams-Paisley co-starred opposite Kurt Russell in the Christmas Chronicles for Netflix and will appear in the film’s sequel.
In addition to her acting work, Williams-Paisley is an accomplished writer with her first full-length book Where the Light Gets In landing on the New York Times best-seller list in 2016. The memoir highlights the impact of her mother’s diagnosis of dementia and explores how she and her family coped with the illness, care and the emotional, then physical loss of her mother Linda.
Following her caregiving experience, Williams-Paisley has become a spokesperson for the Alzheimer’s Association.
At the 45th Annual Meeting & Awards Ceremony, Williams-Paisley will share her experience as a caregiver while navigating her additional roles of wife to country singer-songwriter Brad Paisley and mother to their two children. A book signing is open to attendees following the event – books will be available for purchase.
