FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – The FWPD says detectives identified and apprehended another person in a shooting over the weekend that left a woman dead.
Police say that 30-year-old, William Tolbert Jr. was taken into custody in the 7200 block of Wayne Trace and charged with one count of Murder, acting in concert, and two counts of attempted murder.
The FWPD released the following on Monday:
On November 18, 2024, FWPD Homicide Detectives identified as second person of interest in the homicide of Marialuz Munoz and two shooting victims that took place at Showgirl 1 located at 2910 Goshen Rd on 11/16/2024. William Tolbert Jr. 30yoa was taken into custody without incident on today’s date in the 7200 block of Wayne Trace. William Tolbert Jr. is preliminary charged with Murder (Acting in Concert) and (2) counts of Attempted Murder. William Tolbert Jr. is currently being held at the Allen County Jail. The FWPD Homicide Unit was assisted on this investigation by FWPD Uniform Officers and the Allen County Prosecutor’s Office.
His arrest came after the apprehension of Breshawn Lee Smith on Saturday.
On Saturday November 16th, 2024, at 3:21 AM Fort Wayne officers responded to a shooting at “Showgirl 1” located at 2910 Goshen Ave. Officers found three victims suffering from gunshot wounds. One victim died from their injuries; the other two victims were transported to area hospitals with life-threatening injuries.
On Saturday November 16th, 2024, at approximately 1:38 PM, Fort Wayne Homicide Detectives arrested Breshawn Lee Smith in the 10700 block of US Highway 27. Breshawn was taken into custody without incident and will be incarcerated in the Allen County Jail for one count of Murder, 2 counts Attempted Murder and 1 count of Criminal Recklessness with a Firearm. Detectives were assisted by the Allen County Police Department during the arrest of Breshawn.
The woman killed has been identified by the Allen County Coroner’s Office as Marialuz Munoz. The 26-year-old’s death was ruled a homicide, according to the Allen County Coroner. Two other men were also shot and injured, police said at the time.

The Allen County Coroner’s Office has identified, and made notification to the next of kin of the deceased individual that was found on the parking lot of ShowGirl 1, 2910 Goshen Road, Fort Wayne, Allen County, Indiana, at about 03:21 hours, Saturday, November 16, 2024. She has been positively identified as Marialuz Margarita Munoz, female, Hispanic, age 26, of Fort Wayne, Indiana. The Fort Wayne Police Department responded to a shooting in the parking lot and found Marialuz Margarita Munoz unresponsive. Three Rivers Ambulance Authority pronounced her deceased at the scene.
Marialuz Margarita Munoz’s Cause of Death is Multiple Gunshot Wounds, and the Manner of Death is Homicide Marialuz Margarita Munoz is the 38th Homicide for Fort Wayne and Allen County in 2024. The incident remains under investigation by the Fort Wayne Police Department, the Allen County Prosecutor’s Office and the Allen County Coroner’s Office.
Munoz’s death is the 38 homicide in the county this year, according to the coroner.

The Fort Wayne Police Department is investigating three individuals being shot in the 2900 block of Goshen Rd. Officers responded to a report of an individual being shot outside of the business Showgirl 1. Officers arrived locating a female suffering from a gunshot wound or wounds and citizens providing medical aid to her. Two other males were located also suffering from a gunshot wound or wounds. Medical aid was provided by officers to all the injured parties until Fort Wayne Fire Department personnel and TRAA Medics arrived to provide a higher level of medical care. The female succumbed to her injuries at the scene and death was pronounced by the medics. The two males were transported to a local hospital by ambulances. Their condition at the hospital is serious, but non-life threatening currently. The initial investigation indicates an altercation took place which led to gunfire in the parking lot of the business. Officers and detectives are canvassing the area for evidence and interviewing witnesses. Crime Scene Technicians and the Air Support Unit are assisting in gathering evidence related to this incident. This incident remains under investigation by the Fort Wayne Police Department and the Allen County Prosecutor’s Officer.
