FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – The entire state of Indiana is under a cold weather advisory. Fort Wayne will see single-digit high temperatures for the first part of the week with ‘feels like’ temperatures as low as -25 degrees.
The National Weather Service says the advisory is in place until 10 a.m. Wednesday with high temperatures in the low teens and Tuesday in the single digits. Wind chill readings are expected to be as cold as 20-below-zero. Meteorologists say frostbite can happen in as few as 30 minutes on exposed skin and even a few minutes outside can be dangerous.
The NWS says to wear appropriate clothing, a hat, and gloves.
And meteorologists encourage you to make frequent checks on older family, friends, and neighbors. They remind you to make sure portable heaters are used correctly and to never use generators or grills inside.

For northern Indiana, southwest
Michigan and northwest Ohio.
.DAY ONE…This afternoon and tonight.
Lake effect snow showers are expected tonight. Some travel impacts
like lowered visibility are possible.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN…Monday through Saturday.
Bitterly cold Arctic air is expected early this week. Dangerous wind
chills as low as 20 to 25 below zero will be possible from Sunday
night to Wednesday morning.
Lake effect snow showers are expected to continue Monday. Some
travel impacts like lowered visibility are possible.
